I almost bought us open Tix from the exact same scammer! This is currently posted right now on cl.

2012 US Open Golf
2 x 4 Day Tournament Grounds Tickets~400.00
6/14/12 - 6/17/12 ( Thursday - Sunday )

I emailed him and got this reply:

Hello,

I still have the tickets for sale. .. The price I want for 2 is $ 400. The price includes shipping, because i am located in Huntsville, AL. I will deliver the tickets via UPS overnight (UPS fees are paid by me). You will receive them in 24 hrs.

I would like to do this transaction trough eBay for protection ( I'm new on craigslist... ). eBay will send you the purchase confirmation with details how to purchase the tickets from me. If you accept my proposal please reply me with your eBay username so I can start the official procedure and your full name and delivery address.

I will check my inbox for your reply later!

Thanks,
Matt

Hey Brad,

I got that exact same message from the same guy. I have no idea of who he is either. I gave him a junk email just to see how detailed the scam was and you are right it seems so far that they are setting up a relationship to ask for money. It's ridiculous, they try to make it sound like you are getting "hooked up" due to your connection with this Glenn K, which makes no sense since I don'y know the guy. It's a scam or very deceiving at best. They (Glenn and Paul) are trying to promote their website stocktips (dot) com. I guess take that for what it is, but it's just ridiculous how they try to build confidence with their audience by lying to them.

I got the email too. I knew it was bogus from the get go, so I decided to play along. I figured I would at least waste his time to get even for his waste of mine. My recommendation- don't give ANY information- not valid paypal info, ph, address, nothing. Just give fake stuff and act super excited about the deal. It worked until I gave a fake Western Union confirmation number. He said it wasn't coming through and asked for a receipt of what I sent. I got a receipt off Google images and filled it out- addressed to him for 6 million dollars (and some other, uh, friendly notes on it to give him a little gotcha feel.)

BTW that homestead, fl address is for All Dade Door company. I don't know if they are being used and have no clue about the whole scam or if they're part of it. But I called the phone number (305-257-2700) and left a message to let them know, and that the FBI has been contacted. If you want to play along, give them a call!

I also received the following email and became suspicious, not figuring out how a PayPal transaction could go bad. Thanks for all the posts - saved me some serious aggravation.

"Hi There,

Thank you for getting back to me. Can you assure me that it's in good condition and that i will not be disappointed with it. I'm ready to pay your asking price and to be honest, i wanted to buy this for my son, but the issue is I'm not in state right now, I'm out of state for coaching program where i stationed for my rugby coaching. But I'm able to access email anytime as we will make use of laptop so my only quickest payment option is PayPal as i can send money via PayPal anytime.Since I'm requesting this transaction to be done via PayPal, i will be responsible for all the paypal fee/charges on this transaction and if you don't have an account with paypal, its pretty easy, safe and secured to open one. Just log on to www.paypal.com. I hope we can make the purchase as fast as possible? I have a mover that will come for it once payment clears and they will take care of very necessary paper for me. So i look forward to hear from you soon.
I need the address where the agent will meet you and your PayPal email address so i can send the money now.

Then this email from him:
'I got your PayPal email address and i will send the money to you now, Kindly do me a favor, the shipper company charged me $1000 before they can send the Agent to you, i will also add the Agent fee to the payment now, i mean i will include the agent fees to your final price of the item, i will send $1000 to your PayPal account, and you will help me pay the agent when he come to you and pick up the item, please kindly do this for me, i will send the total amount of $4,500 to your PayPal account and you will just help me pay the agent when he come for the item. Nice doing business with you.

And lastly from his 'shipper':
'Hello,

All the stories here all the same, wow, this guy is scum.. So I received this from the scammer a few days ago regarding a craiglist ad I did for my husband over the weekend.

DF James

I saw your advert on Craigslist, how long have you been using this ? and let me know your firm price Thanks

My husband then replied back basically asking him what his firm price was & this is what he sent back:

OK so that's when my husband had me take a look at the email and it took me only a second to see it was a scam, then a quick google search of his email, confirmed everything.. Needless to say I tore him up when I replied back!! Hope they catch the SOB...
