He sent the EXACT same emails to me. Scumbag.

He just sent me the exact same emails. Bastard. I can’t figure out how he plans on paying with paypal and then picking up motorcycle. Is paypal not as secure as I thought?

I figured out how the scam works. I got the same email when I tried to sell my Chevy suburban on Craigslist. So I did some research and found out a few things. (Actually, I got two of these scam emails on the same vehicle within 2 days of each other from two different people.) Anyway, they use Paypal because paypal has a really good “make it right” policy. They send the funds to your paypal account and right away they come to pick up the product or in this case a used car. Meanwhile, you think you have your money but as soon as they pick up the vehicle, using “an agent” they notify paypal that they didn’t receive the product. Paypal will automatically refund their money unless you can come up with proof that you delivered the vehicle. The only form of proof paypal accepts is a tracking number with SIGNATURE CONFIRMATION from either the post office or UPS. Well, you won’t be able to show proof of a signature because the guy is offshore and used an agent. Guess what… this just may be the newest way of stealing cars!

I just got the same responses from this guy. Has anyone tried to turn him in? My husband wants me to. Its sad that this guy is still doing this and hopefully no one has been taken by this scumbag.

I got this same intro today from diffyjames111@tlen.pl. Luckily I noticed a Poland email and instantly googled his name. I will call him out if he responds to my reply about calling me to discuss the sale. Thanks for the warning everyone,

I now got an email for Attorney Webster (forgot last name) with a Poland email p.pl address. I got an email for this sale a few months ago and the guy had the same story about paying me $100.00 more than I wanted and his dad had the same car, but I can not remember the email location. I asked the guy to call me as he was typing in broken english (tip off) without a reply. I would not sell to anyone unless they bring a certified check and are within the tri-state area.

Attorney S. Webster is the new name. They use an free domain email such as tlen.pl then change the response to gmail email address.

Wow, I got 3 email also from him. I am glad I googled his name. Thank-you all for posting it. I was wondering how he was going to Scam, but knew it didn’t sound right.Her is his e-mail

Wow you saved my butt thanks for posting this. I got the exact email from this guy. A carbon copy. I was just trying to sell my bike. But it kept getting weirder and weirder. He added a pay pal request for a western union and agent fee of 1500. I will be notifying pay pal. He does say that paypal will release the funds after his agent picks up the bike. . Once again thanks for posting this. I would have lost a bike and 1500. Does any body know where this guy lives. And who is this agent he uses… I am half tempted to say just have your agent come here and have my friend at the state patrol and sheriffs office arrest home. That way he can enjoy xmas in jail.

I got the same exact thing. But he said I am sending the money. The got an titled from paypal but the return address was wrong. The email also states that I needed to send western union to his shipping agent. Until then I thought he was local. I never agreed to any wire transfer so I told him for 1500 I would deliver it to the merest Ktm dealer and have him pick it up. Then he got more aggressive and said old get this done soon so I can give it to my kid by christmas. The funny thing was that if he had email. Then he could use western union on line. I contacted paypal. Cregs list. And since I am an officer in the army and this was done to me while on base. I contacted CID. Then went to the FBI and filed under the scam area against soldiers or their families. I also for another fake email saying if I did not send the 1500 to the agent the fbi would send my name and picture to the local police…. So I contacted them also. The return email also was not from paypal…and paypal as everybody know does not respond that fast. I would really like to thank who ever put up this website. I had a real bad feeling and googled him that led me here. I will add that this format is also being used under another name and email but the exact same word are being used. Thanks for putting the word out on this guy. I may not have lost 1500 or my bike, but this guy cost me a week of sells and other offers. So either way damage is done…. Be advised. I do not think he is really using paypal. I my case I never saw pending or any thing else, hold,,, nothing. So I think he is now but passing.g pay pal. And sending a fake paypal message.

Yes, I just received a email today James Diffy who wants to buy off Craigslist.. Really, Thank god for the internet I knew it was too good to b true!!

This guy just e-mailed me as well!!! I am sooo glad this website exists otherwise I would have fell right into this Scummy Scammer James Diffy, Diffy, or whatever the hell this guy wants to call himself next. What else can we do about this? I really like Bill’s idea. Great job Bill! Hopefully the FBI does something about it!! As for this scum of the Earth Diffy– Go get a real job where you dont have to try and scam good hearted people you gutless piece of trash!!!

Just got the exact same email…almost fell for it. He’s a rugby coach buying the truck I am advertising for sale on Ebay. Had a funny feeling so googled his name and this website came up…glad I did!!

I got the same email, im new to to this stuff but im not stupid. He tried this on me so I called paypal as to why they were holding the money till i paid western union 1500.00 for the transpost agent. paypal told me strait up that it was a scam because they don’t hold money till you pay western union because western union is a competitor and they wouldnt be helping them.

Just got the rugby coach letter trying to buy my Harley. Thanks to this thread I got tell him where he could put his PayPal transaction. He’s lucky I can’t find him. He’d be drawn and quartered.

Got an email from him as well. Told me he was a rugby coach and stationed out of state. Wanted to buy it for his son and use paypal. Glad I googled his name.

I got the rugby one too and just flagged it on CL. Don’t know if they follow thru and figure out the scam so they can change their policy.

OMG I almost sold him a motorcycle…….sent him an inactive paypal address…..and am showing copies of email to authorities!!!!!! I cannot believe I amost fell for it, thankfully he seemed fishy and i googled him!!! Thanks guys for this post, it just saved me 15K!!!!!

Sounded very fishy. Luckily I googled.

I gave him a hilarious, fake email and instantly got an official looking email (sent to my anonymous craigslist email handle) from PayPal, stating that Diffy has paid me the money.

I called him out for being retarded and stated I’m reporting him and whatnot…no response yet!

Same thing with me. diffjames11@gmail.com responded to an ad selling an antique desk. I also got similarly fishy, illiterate emails from bentonrose03@gmail.com and tingokarat@gmail.com.

I emailed him back and told him he was a scammer and I had reported him but he still replied, this time via diffjames6@gmail.com:

Was selling expensive bedroom set on Craigs List. Received email from diffjames6@gmail.com James Diffy about being a rugby coach and wanting to pay by paypal and have an agent pick up. Called paypal and they have no record of him or that email address. Thanks to the previous posts on here I knew to check with paypal first!

I just got an email from him too. Trying to sell my GTI on Craigslist and the fact that he offered to buy the car sight-unseen for my full asking price threw up a red flag. Glad I found this. I emailed him to call him out on it and he called everybody here a liar. What a moron.

Yup just got an offer on my jeep by him as well, posing as a rugby coach. Googled his name and it led me here thank god. Thanks for the posts guys saved me 9 grand. I hope he burns in hell
